Solution to gas Distribution at DistriGas

Distrigas, the leading gas provider in Belgium, supplies natural gas to public and major industrial consumers and also plays an active role in international gas transit.

Since the start of gas transport in the 60s, Distrigas has made a point of having the latest and most accurate measurement system for counting the gas volume.

In 1994, a project was started to register and control the " volume converters " automatically and transmit the data to a central computer system.

After a thorough investigation of possible solutions, Distrigas chose the TBOX.

Wherever Distrigas needs information on the gas volume, a TBOX is connected to the existing " volume converter ", to a turbine giving pulses and a pressure and temperature transducer for the calibration.

Today more than 500 TBOX outstations are on remote connection to a central computer using PSTN communication.
