Telecontrol of Electricity Consumption and Refrigeration at CASINO France

A mass distribution company, CASINO France has installed telemetry systems in many of its supermarkets thanks to TBOX.

The solution has been designed to satisfy the need to optimise energy costs in two areas:

• Appropriate management of the main electricity consumption (lighting, heating, baking equipment, motive power, etc.) in relation to the opening and closing times of the shop and the automatic shutdown of electrical equipment (to avoid any excess consumption) in order to achieve annual savings of 15 to 20% on electricity bills.

• A dynamic charting and recording of fridge temperatures, thus allowing better monitoring of the Refrigeration systems in order to provide better food quality assurance.

The "electricity consumption management" and "temperature recording" functions are completely independent from each other and can be separated from one another. Information is centralised in real time by satellite link and by Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) with a central supervisory station. The remote use of Minitel allows the equipment to be controlled and displayed and will reveal any temporary problems.
